I love these words of an old carol that is (sadly) not very well known…………
“Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown
When thou camest to earth for me
But in Bethlehem’s home was there found no room
For thy holy nativity
O come to my heart Lord Jesus
There is room in my heart for Thee.”
Despite its rather quaint language and archaic phrasing, it contains a powerful truth. No room for Christ at Christmas – make sure there is room for him in your life. And that means not only at Christmas but every day of the year. Advent is such a great time to reflect and re-orientate our lives to the Baby of Bethlehem who became the Man of Calvary. We hope the advent readings and Sunday services help you with that step.
Last week in our Sunday services we thought about the STUNNING GIFT that God gave us. Now we think about the STUNNING OFFER. Like all offers, it has to be accepted. When we accept Christ we have the remarkable promise that we will not perish but have eternal life.
Then we need to keep growing until we all come to the fulness of maturity in Him So in these last days before Christmas Day let us again commit ourselves to taking the opportunities which come our way
You may still want to think about hosting a coffee morning in your home and inviting Mitch in to share his story and to help introduce your friends to Jesus. If you want to think about this email him at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave your details at the welcome desk
